RECORDS THAT WON’T BE BROKEN. This is an easy one. I’m going to the NHL and the record that won’t be broken is goals scored during a career.

The top spot was held by F Wayne Gretzky with what most people believed was an insurmountable number at 894. That number was eclipsed in April by Washington Capitals F Alex Ovechkin and that mark now stands at 897 and counting.

The closest active National Hockey League player to Ovi is Pittsburgh Penguins F Sydney Crosby with 625 markers. If you do the math, and I always encourage my followers to do, that’s 272 more times The Kid has to put the biscuit in the basket.

#87 would have to score 40 goals for the next 7+ years to tie The Great 8 and that’s assuming the Russian star doesn’t score any more goals.

We know that not happening and that number is going to increase. We also know at 37 The Next One will be hanging up the skates before he’s 45.

As we all also know Father Time is undefeated. That record won’t be broken.

Book it Dano!
